Default oe pads MY00

I'll be replacing my pads this year, maybe discs too. I'm more than happy with the oe stuff but they are a little pricey. I don't need extra performance + I need them to work from cold and not cover the wheels in brake dust.
Is there anything available of similar quailty to the oe pads for a more reasonable price?
My pads last 25k miles normally so I'm not what you'd call heavy on the brakes.

I've seen pads on ebay for £30 and GGR seem to be selling discs and pads for £70 inc. delivery. What's wrong with them?

One more thing. What is the service limit for disc thickness on a MY00 UK model?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Try Alyn at AS Performance.
I used pads made by Terinex (sp?) which were slightly uprated pads but cheaper than OEM ones.

Nothing as far as I'm concened - used the GGR discs and pads from ebay many times over the last few years. Have also used the cheap Lucas pads from Camskill. And had discs from eBay.co.uk Shop - Import Car Parts Japanese Car Parts: Subaru Service Parts: too.

GGR disks were pants for me, combined with mintex pads they were crap. They were Solid Ace branded.

They warped as well under normal road use.

You can get pads and disks cheap as from Motaquip, not sure if they supply to the public, and I have never used them so can't vouch for the quality. But they are cheap!

I went through all this a few years ago ... I ended up paying Subaru for OE Pads and Discs (also a MY00) - I think the originals on the front lasted 65,000 miles and that was good enough for me ... I may not have to replace again?

The rears were replaced, again with OE Subaru parts at about 80,000 miles.

I wanted them to fit and work as the originals - and OE guarantees that.
