Default Falken Tyres - What they like?

I was looking at getting some Falkens onto the scoob. I know they are not the best tyres around by looking at the prices, but what are they like for wear and tear etc for just normal road driving.

Thanks,

I have had the FK452's on my WR1, Evo MR320, Skyline R33 GTR and again back on another scoob, I can't fault them in the wet or dry and the wear is great.

I Did a track day in the skyline (heavy car) and the wear on my Falkens was far less than alot of other top make tyres on lighter cars.

I've run Falkens for the last 8 years after I got fed of the wear rate of Yokohamas, initially 502s (I think) which were their budget version, okay for the money, but laterly GRBs, 451s and now 452s and for the price they are unbeatable, great all round performer and cracking wear rate.

Hey I also have the 452's and cannot fault them at all, good price and not bad in wet and dry conditions.

They last a fair bit too, thats with normal driving and hard driving on the weekends...

Try SelectaTyre ....I quoted Camskills price of £61 per tyre for 225/40/18s and they dropped their price down to £71 inc. fitting and balancing!!!!

Couldn't grumble with that..........getting them put on tommorow!

Keeping the old 2 Nexen 6000(10000miles) and the 2 ATR Achiles sports (4000miles)....the Achilles have over 6mm and the nexen have 4mm and 2/3mm round the edge!!!
Gonna use them for trakdays(maybe)!!!!

Can't wait to get some good tyres! The others were on the car when I got it in April!!

I have always sworn by F1s - really good grip in the wet and progressive breakaway. But the rate they wear has allways anoyed me.

So FK452 could be worth a punt

I had to get a 5 tyres on my sisters LCR a little while ago whilst I had he day off. My brother inlaw pre phoned them and agreed on some Falken 912's I just turned up without looking at what they put on. On my drive home the car had much more grip (I thought it was that new tyres feeling) but the car seemed more balanced etc.

6 months down the line I had to take her car for a service. Again the car had much more grip. I thought they were really good.

So, I needed to replace all 4 on my Impreza Sport as the KU21's side walls are complete cack. I opted for some Falken 912's and paid £236 all in!! I have to say they are really good tyres for what you pay. In the dry they grip like poo to a blanket and in the wet they grip very well compared to the KU21.

What I did notice on the Impreza with these 912's on is the lack of road noise feedback. I'm used to my parada's on my MY02. The sidewalls are a little hard at first mind you but then I'd rather that than flimsy T1-S walls.

I'm thinking of getting my Parada's off my car and adding a set of 912's or 452's to my STi now.

Very good value for money I say.

Thought I'd ressurect this.

Having 4 FK452's fitted this aft (215/40/17) on my classic. £265 all in, not bad I thought! Any more thoughts on these?
