Default Brembos rubbing with 18s?

Fitted my new calipers tonight but theyre rubbing. I have 18" Prodrive gold multispokes on my WRX so I thought they would fit?

Theyre not rubbing by much becaue I fitted 2 washes to each wheel nut to act as a spacer and theyre fine now? Maybe 3 to 4mm?

Any ideas why theyve rubbed?

Shape of the inner edge of the spokes I'd guess....

My OZ's are almost straight and miss by a mile my std alloys could grind peppercorns.

LOL

I thought they would be interchangable. Prodrive brakes and calipers?
Anyway, I build fire engines for a living so I'll get some 5mm spacers made up tomorrow. Just means I'll have to take the calipers back off to paint them caus I've grinded half the paint off them.

Anyone ever done them blue?

Means longer studs.

Ok for everyday use but be careful with spacers etc if you sprint and hillclimb/track as a few have come a cropper.

Longer wheels studs available from Roger Clarke and agree with Jim spacers are not the best idea on any decent handling car.

How much more do the brembos stick out compared to the subaru 4 pots?
I have about 5mm gap.
Also, will they fit under 17's?

Thanks,Mit

Thanks, they look huge under those! Did they really make muck difference? Im in the market for discs and pads, and thought save the £150, put the £150 for mine towards it, then i'd only need £100-£200 for the brembos.

hi m8 you wont req longer wheel studs for 3-4mm ,we use them on our track car to clear compbrake 6 pot calipers x330mm on 17 in wheels the wheels you have could be wrx 18 prodrive not sti pd with an offset of 53 that all your problem is bud cheers geo

Cheers mate, that makes me feel more confident now. Fitted some spacers today and the car feels great. The brakes are sooooo much better and I havent even knocked the surface rust off the discs yet

I bought mine off a Scoobynetter who said they didnt fit under his 17" but I believe they will fit with spacers.

The difference in size has to be seen to be believed.

I've got the Brembo's under 18" Rota GRA's - no spacers - they only just fit mind. I thought that Prodrive wheels would fit straight over them

They fit under 17" as long as they are the right off set , there is a difference in offset between 17" wrx alloys and sti 17" alloys although they look identical , brembos will catch on wrx 17"

Its spoke design rather than offset. People fit differing offsets to get around the wheels design issues.

Its well documented which are the best offsets for imprezas
