Default grinding brakes, sti.

hi, just bought my first scooby (56reg sti) and i'm a bit concerned about the grinding noise from my brakes even at 5 mph, is this normal, as dealer i bought the car from said the car has had all checks done and no pads needed.

You can have a look at the pads too see how much they have left on them, but, I also had this noise on my 05 STI, obviously you have the Brembo brakes, but I found it was the Brembo pads that are the course of the noise.

They just seem to be made a lot harder, therefore more noisier on braking.
I changed the pads for some Black Diamond, done the rears also. Car is silent upon braking now.

Same on my previous 54plate STi type Uk and now on the RB320.

Not so much a grinding noise, but you can definitely hear the brakes bite.
Which I guess is only a good thing!

Don't forget - there's a pad wear indicator in the form of a piece of metal that rubs against the disc making a scraping sound when the pad wears to around 3 or 4mm
