Default These pesky Black MY08 rear STi brembo's

Hi

I have now fitted these on a classic , they wont fit the newage cars ,

The caliper lugs need to be machined to make it fit , once they are machined , they will bolt straight onto the hubs without the need of a mounting bracket.
But then they will only fit onto the MY01 onwards WRX 290mm vented discs , they will not fit with the 316mm brembo discs , the brembo pads are used , but these also need machining down to fit the smaller pad area on the 290mm discs as they are a wider pad than the WRX 2 pot rear calipers.

It is a bit of faffing about but as there are a lot of people that have bought these calipers , at least its a way to now use them

Cheers Ian

I heard that the new black calipers are no better than the bugeye 4 pots.

Any advice on the new ones Ian as they seem to sell for peanuts

hi ian, glad to see you can do a conversion now for these, save people some dosh.

Been running these on a classic for few months now including couple of sprints, and was meant to report back on a previous thread about durability, can say now that the machined lugs are fine no sign of stress cracks etc, on my set.

cheers steve.
