Anyone using the "new" Brembo Discs on a 2002 - Sti?

I am looking to change from my EBC discs and redstuff pads that have now been on for 3.5 yrs!

I saw these advertised on Scoobyworld... see link..

I was wondering what the general view of these discs were and what pads people are using on them... I got the EBC's as they were low on dust and I don't drive / brake hard !

Andy you say you are not braking hard or maybe not pushing the brakes as much as some!! Do you really need to go for drilled discs?? After all they are not cheap.Must say they do look good though

Well I decided to go away from grooved discs and just go for drilled, or solid don't mind as long as they don't warp and are low on dust

I would of thought that solid discs are better on dust as they are not so abrasive as grooved or drilled. It is the pad compound that makes the dust. I have Black diamond fast track on mine they are better than the Brembo pads for dust but not by much!! good performance though

xspec.co.uk give them a bell, i paid about 300 quid cash for a full set front/rear groved,i use them on the brembo pads and never once had brake fade and have really good stopping power. i used them red stuff for 6 months and put the pads in the bin they scored the old discs and faded all the time . only use brembo pads now

I would stay away from drilled discs as they can end up cracking around the holes , more so if you use a good pad and drive the car hard.

I have seen them on EBay for £99.00 (fronts) Make sure you get new shims with them you will need them!!

to be fair that is a good price,and would go for either brembo pads or Ferodo DS2500's the later are probably a better pad.never been keen on the mintex pad every set i have had i got lots of brake dust and squeal at low speed, but not as bad as those dreadful redstuff lol

i have those brembo drilled discs with ferodo ds2500 on my car, no sign of cracking and i find this setup works brilliantly i also have ds2500 pads with original discs on the rear.
