Depends on the use and what you want them for...

Mainly road use, with occasional track use.

Well, on this type of car, I've used Mintex 1155 and now the DS2500 pads but in different types of caliper ie subaru 4pots with the Mintex pads and now the brembo calipers with the DS pads.

Under normal driving/fast road, both pads seem similar in both initial cold bite and under reasonable braking. Dust wise, both are pretty much the same. I was a little disappointed in the DS pads initially, but now they have bedded in properly, the bite from cold is very good, and the on some spirited twisty road drives, very good also.

I'll recommend either of those pads for road use.

The DS2500's are excellent and a massive improvement over the standard pads. Its like having a brake upgrade!

DS2500s....people seem to either love them or hate them

Performance Friction 'Z' compound pads will work well and are £166 for the whole set (will have to check stock).

PM me for DS2500 prices.

I'd be inclined to do a good hour or so of searching on this site for the various makes you're thinking of getting. There are some good and bad threads on all pads listed but it may help make you're mind up

On track I find that DS2500 lack ultimate bite. I'm now using Pagid Blue and am very happy with the feel of this stuff.

That'll be the latter for me- IMHO they're massively overrated- but If you're used to oem or EBC then they are, no doubt, and improvement.

I'm currently using the Mintex F series pads and they're superb- although I'm going to try some of Bob's PF kit shortly.

I've always been a fan of Pagid blues, but there are better pads on the market now. Pagid RS 14 and 15 have been recommended by a friend who really know what he's talking about so might give them a try in the Brembos at some point.

RS14/15 are high friction race compounds and are intended for use with slicks. You may well find it is too easy to lock wheels up with road tyres.

Agreed, but after 20+ years of racing I like to think I have a sensitive right foot

TBH the only time I'd brake hard enough to lock them up (with the exception of emergencies) would be on track.

The Mintex are lovely with a bit of heat in them; I'm using 1859F6R16.00 front and 1890F6R14.0 rear.
