Default Which discs & pads???

On my last MOT I was told that my discs & pads would soon need replacing.

I'm assuming that I can get same or better standard non-Subaru parts cheaper than buying from the Subaru dealer but I haven't got a clue what to look for if I'm being honest!

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers.

Hi
Your pad choice will depend on your driving style and if your going to do track days , what model car do you have ?

Have a look at the deals I am offering on the group buy page

https://www.scoobynet.com/group-buys...group-buy.html

You can ring me on 01656 723060 if you want me to talk through some options

Cheers Ian

Hi Ian, thanks for your help.

I've got a MY00 saloon turbo. It's pretty much standard & just for road use.

I'm looking for pretty much standard replacements without having to pay dealer prices.

Cheers.

HI
I can supply you with grooved front discs , and our kevlar fast road pads , including delivery for £150 , these pads are a mild fast road pad if you do mostly town driving and like to give it a bit of stick now and again
Cheers Ian

Ian, is that price for both front & back discs & pads?

And yes, most of my mileage is trundling up & down to work but I do like to give it some stick when I can.

Ian's discs are very competitively priced and very much look "the business" in comparison to the OEM Subaru items.

I use Ferodo DS2500 on the front after switching over from OEM items and the difference was noticeable - better response and less fade, although they generate a lot of dust so you end up cleaning your wheels a lot more

Not sure I agree with the sentiment that Mintex pads and OEM discs are fine though - I've always found the standard brakes to be very much lacking - which is why I'm upgrading to a set of Ian's discs and some braided hoses.

P.S. if it were that much for front and back Ian wouldn't have any stock left!
Read Ian's post properly mate - he clearly states front discs and pads

If it's just standard replacement stuff you are after, you local motor factors will sell you discs for around £40 for a set of fronts.

Got mintex 1155 pads on my classic with std front discs/4pots the 1155`s transformed the braking it really were that noticeable, ya get a bit of squeal now an again and as with the ferodos are quite heavy dusting, im just about to get some for the rear to be honest.

Previously had tarox G88`s and their fast road pads an they were crap in comparison.
wouldnt change from a std disc now unless for bigger AP`s or equivalent-just good pads has made loads of difference on mine.
