Default Will 225/35/18's rub on a classic?

Looking at getting some 18" wheels for my uk classic which is lowered 35mm. Will 225/35/18 tyres rub or is it safer to go for 215/35/18 (going for an 8" wide wheel btw)?

Just wondering if anyone had run this tyre size as I was after the widest I could get away with. Looks like 215/35/18 it is then. Cheers for the replys

I'm running 225/35/18 on 18" P-1 alloys (ET53) without issues. I have Eibach springs with a 25-30mm drop.
Thanks,
Paul.

Aah right because I was looking at Compomotive MO's or Revolutions and think they both have an offset of ET50 and being 8" wide wasn't sure if I could get away with 225's. Cheers.

I think it really depends on the combination of tyre size & wheel offset.
Like above my P1 18" (Offset 53) with 225/35/18 on eibach classic no rubbing what so ever.
Previously had 215/35/18 with no problems other than the lack of sidewall protection.

Prior to that had P1 17" (offset 52) 225/45/17 which would catch the rear arches occasionally.

It would be worth while to get the rear arches rolled.
