Am currently looking to upgrade Subaru 4 pots for Alcon or AP replacements. My question is, is there much that can be done to significantly improve braking performance without replacing the callipers. i.e Do braided hoses, different fluid etc make a real difference. If I replaced just discs and pads would the difference be significant and if so then which ones have proved to be best using standard callipers (is warping probs etc).

Grateful for any help.

All down to how much money you've got.

I think that my Godspeed brakes are superb both in look and ability - cost £790 all in.

However, drove PCB's MY01 with AP 6 pots at the weekend and they are better again, how much better christ knows! - but they are £1700(ish I think).

Bear in mind this was on the road, so I have no idea how the two would compare on a track.

It is one of those things that the more money you throw at it the better the product you will get. But which is better value for money is a different question, and probably impossible to answer.

What a lot of help, hey

Matt
