Default Brake calliper piston size?

Have fitted some 2-pot rears to my my99 classic using the godney brackets but am suffering from a sticky piston. Have replaced all the seals and polished up the pistons to no avail. Have ordered a new piston as i think one is damaged as is "rocking" in the bore of the calliper but will take a while to arrive as it has to come from Japan/Europe as no stock in UK as people order the whole calliper including pistons, etc. or this is what the main dealer told me anyway.
Firstly is this other peoples experience in that they're hard to get hold of and secondly is the piston from the old single-pot calliper the same size so i could substitute that?
