brembo front pad 'klonk'
after fitting new brembo front pads to my 04' sti ive got a klunk when going from forward to reverse and vice versa. subarus say that i just need to put copper slip on the whole of the backplate, will this work?
also the shims are in at the mo, will it help to remove these?
should i get some more pads i.e red stuff?

Always happened with mine mate, usually at slow speeds. Copper slip helps but doesn't eradicate the problem tbh. In the end I just lived with it as it was universally acknowledged it was just the pad moving slightly.
Very much a "they all do that sir".

Mine first 'clonked' when I carried out an initial hard braking manoeuvre, crapped myself as I thought something wasn't done up properly
Good check around and all was well, just the DS2500 pads moving around in the caliper. Now they've done it a few times, on light braking, they don't clonk on the hard braking anymore.
Something else I live with I guess
