Are EBC Redstuff really CRAP or is just me?
Fitted some EBC redstuff brake pads about a month ago and done about 500 miles or so, so bedding-in should be completed.
I have to say I am completely disappointed with these.
There is no bite in the brakes, they feel about as shizer as the stocks I had.
So what's the deal are they crap, did I make a mistake or is it something else in the brake system?

quite a funny thread considering ebc are advertising at the top of it.Had them on a fiesta a few years back for spinting/hillclimbing and were brilliant, tried them on the scoob and they nearly caught fire. ended up driving round paddock to let them cool down.Paint blistered and pads showed cracks on face. Now use ferrodo 2500. Excellent pads.

I would like somone from on ebc to actually come on this site and defend their **** poor product. In my opinion they shouldn't be allowed to advertise on it any longer.

They did the once. Said they upgraded all the compounds and told everyone to use YellowStuffs (erm, no thanks - once bitten ).
There used to be a resident EBC salesman on here "Buckrogers" who used to be quite prominent in this section and very defendent of the poducts he sold. I wonder if he's given up?

Agree with the above...put in red stuff in the sti and they successfully screwed the discs, changed to DBA discs & DS2500 pads... nearly stood it on its nose !!

I've had Yellows on mine for around 800 miles, and either they haven't bedded in yet or they are RUBBISH. Will give it to 1000 then go back to the fitter.

Well this kinda answers a question for me !
I've just got my WR1 back from its 50K service and it needs new discs and pads all round. Declined the Subaru ones in favour of doing it myself. Was looking at EBC but think I will steer well clear.
Any recommendations on alternatives ?
Cheers
Elliot

Had Red stuff pads and EBC grooved and drilled discs on rear of mine. Get a better pedal feel now Ive gone back to standard discs and pads at the back.
Old discs were badly warped and pads actually fell apart in my hand when i pulled them from caliper.

Had EBC discs and yellow stuff pads fitted, within a few months the discs had cracked right through.
The company that fitted the brakes said that EBC also dont tend to honour any kind of warrenty.
Wont touch them ever again.

If you want reliable discs then youll not go wrong with Brembo. We have sold thousands of sets over the years and I only know of one pair that have come back and that was due to the customer nailing them with zero bedding in causing pad deposits. Very high quality product at a very reasonable price.
Combine them with Ferodo DS2500s, youll not go wrong

Took my rear brakes apart last month due to a grinding noise. Found one pad to be completely missing its friction material and the other 3 fell apart upon removal. They were EBC greenstuff pads. Skimmed my disks up at work and fitted genuine pads and they feel well up to the job for the rears.

I've has the same experience as everyone else on here with them. Think they're stuff mainly designed for the boy racer saxo, pugs etc, the small lightly powered cars. Certainly not scoobs or evo's

Don't fit them on a P38 Range Rover either. Unless you want to replace you disks (and pads) prematurely.
(Yup, friend of mine got stung, I did warn him though...albeit after he fitted them, so was too late ).
