MY98 Impreza brake fade
IMO the thing that lets my Scoob down is the brakes. I experienced scary fade yesterday, using motor factors pads.
Can anyone recommend a pad which makes a real improvement, or is it case of fitting the bigger discs & 4 pot calipers from a slightly later model? (Obviously the latter would a lot more expensive. I only want some improvement - for fast road use only - i.e. no track use.) Has anyone tried direct replacement grooved discs?

when i had 2 pots (93wrx) i upgraded the pads which seem to help ,didn't bother with discs but still found that when brealing from 'ahem' speeds the first bite was great but one applying the brakes they still sucked.
You could try braided hoses (£60) to see if that improves the feel.
i went with the 4 pot conversion ,standard discs,Black Diamond pads, braided hoses and DOT 5.1 fluid and that was a hell of a lot better.

Oh yes!
much better! still running them in and i am using slightly worn grooved discs but what a difference! there is now urgency to the brake feel and not the feeling that the brakes are trying too hard to stop the car!!
2 pots to 4 pots upgrade is definetly recommended !
From the time i went into the garage to turn on the radio, to the point i had dropped it back down and tightened the wheel nuts took me 48 mins! (the radio clock resets and i happened to notice) that must almost be as quick as the mechanics on a rally stage!! lol

Just to point as well check your wheel size Fury Pilot as they may not fit under your wheels.
I had 16"s on my 93wrx but because of the spoke design the bloody things scrapped some of the paint off and i had to buy the wheels that came off the cars that had 4 pots as standard.

I paid 197 quid inc delivery from ebay and came with grooved discs. A good few hours later i had them cleaned and "de-rusted", painted them with hammerite smooth (5 quid) then fitted the new seals (23 quid).
Haven't done the lettering yet as i wanted to get them on the car!! being impatient!
I now have awesome brakes that actually work!!
