2008 STi brakes onto 94 Classic
Hi Guys,
Any help appreciated, I've just purchased a set of Sti brembo brakes from a 2008 Subaru sti.
Front 330mm 4 pot and 315mm rear 2 pot
I understand the front should be a straight swap but I’m struggling to find a bracket to fit the rear ones - can anyone advise where to go?
I tried God Speed but they don’t have a kit for this conversion.
May Thanks
Lj

Just a thought but didn't they change the PCD on later STi's to 5x114.3.
Your will be 5x100 so you'll need the hubs as well to mount the disc pattern or find some 5x100 Discs

The fronts will fit fine, but need the discs re-drilled to 5x100 PDC. The rears will fit with a custom bracket. The Godspeed kit is fine for the shoes and spacers but the bracket needs to be 14x14 rather than 14x11.3 which is the mounting distance for the old gold calipers.
Use this as a template to get the 14x14 made up and then either purchase or source the remaining parts that make up the Godspeed rear brembo conversion kit for classics. I have done the fronts but not yet finished the rears as I have a gold set on for now

Does anyone have the 14x14 Template, spoke to Godspeed and apparently the one above is for the brembo one? Just saves me having to ship a calliper there to get it done as you can’t just modify this drawing as the lugs could be shorter as well as further apart?!?!

Hi
Its not as easy as just changing the bolt spacings to suit the new calipers , as the gold caliper lugs are closer together , they sit in the middle of the holes in the back plate , if you see the spacers we supply , they have a piece machined out to give clearance for the back plate , I think it could be a problem fitting the later black calipers , it will make this even tighter as the lugs will be even closer.
If someone wants to send me one rear caliper , I can tell you if it going to work or not straight away
Cheers Ian

Hi Ian as you would expect when we lined them up there was enough clearance fitting bracket to the back plate at 14cms. At the top where the bracket fits to the caliper it did look tight but its not too much bother to trim a few mm off the top backing plate if necessary. The bolt cleared fine its whether the spacer fits without a slight dremel action when everything else is tightened.
