Default just upgraded to 4 pots

bought the calipers, discs, pads and braided lines from ebay
took less than 1.5hrs to fit! including bleeding (with me new 1 person/no pumping method as used by local garage)

so far: they look better, arent dragging and seem to work a treat

we'll see how they cope with the run to Hartside, next weekend!

I knew my 2 pots were crap AND fooked, but I didnt realise how bad they were till I did the upgrade

if yer still running 2 pots, I suggest you upgrade pronto!!!

the tip from A guy I know with his own garage is:
lid off brake reservoir
open bleed screw slightly
drink tea
...wait till fluid starts to RUN out (not spit or spurt) - usually 10 - 30 secs
tighten bleed nipple
move to next brake!
simple as that!!!

my rear brakes are standard calipers and pads with grooved discs
theyre a bit noisy at low speeds (around town) but seem to work fine *(they were 2nd hand as the original calipers were knackered............£40 complete! )

This method works well, I've used it on the Brembo calipers I fitted. Thing is, by pressing the pedal SLOWLY, the flow you introduce into the calipers dislodges tiny bubbles trapped against the surface of the caliper. Not doing this may end up with all those tiny trapped bubbles accumulating and giving a softer pedal feel than you should have. You can tap the calipers with a soft plastic mallet or screwdriver handle to help remove the bubbles. I do this as well as pressing the pedal. As long as the end of the bleed tube is submerged in fresh fluid, and you pump fluid through to fill the tube, you need nothing more than a container and cheap pipe, one person and a bit of patience

Thanks, that all makes sense! I've just bought some brakes of maccers, painted them up today, will probably fit them Tuesday. So,as im going to do a fluid change, would it be an idea to let gravity push the old fluid out each caliper/line until new fluid comes through, then finish with a gentle squeez of the brake just to be sure? Woill the old/new fluid mix?

that should be fine, mit - so long as you use the same type of fluid (DOT4 for example) as is already in
