Default 215/45/17 replace with 225/45/17

Currently got RE050 standard fitment on my MY06 and need new boots all round. Gonna go for Sessanta's but they only do 225/45/17

Can these be a straight replacement for 215/45/17 ?

cheers

Yep.
All four obviously.
Will probably make optimistic speedo more accurate.
May be insurance/type aproval issues though.

will double check with insurance first . You all know how fussy they are . Probably see it as a mod !

Yeah, I am fairly sure this size is normal fitment in Japan for these cars, so mechanically I don't think there's any issue.
I went to Costco to get them fitted to my car, and they wouldn't do it, as it wasn't the "right size" for the car.
Guess I'll just take the rims there next time.

isn't the 225 for a 7.5j rim? check out the owner's manual for details. if your rims are too narrow it will affect handling with too big a tyre. i would stick to 215 personally. the bigger tyre would scarcely be noticeable lookswise but might be bad news for the feel of the car. if subaru thought 225 a good idea on 7j wheel wouldn't they have fitted them themselves?

sorry
