AP 4 pot rear kit for new age STi.
AP website states this kit (CP7625-1000) needs an 18" wheel. Having downloaded the template it looks as if it might fit under the OE 17" wheels.
My question is has anybody got this kit fitted under standard new age STi 17" 114.3PCD 10 spoke gold alloys and if so how much room is there.
Thanks, Diccy.

Spoke to AP about this issue at the racing car show last year. The new age 4 pot rear kit uses a 335mm disc. They're expecting that you'll fit it with AP 6 pots. The AP 6 pot fronts for the 17" wheels use a 330mm disc and the kit for 18" wheels uses 356mm discs.
AP don't think you'd want to fit 335mm discs on the rear with 330mm on the front hence they recommend it for 18" wheels only.
Their technical guy I spoke to couldn't think of any reason why you shouldn't run a bigger disc on the back than the front. With 6 pots on the front and 4 pots on the back you're never going to get more braking on the rear even with a slightly bigger disc. Just wouldn't be aesthetically right.
I ended up agreeing and didn't fit mine until I'd upgraded to the bigger fronts.
As far as fitting them under those particular wheels I haven't tried it but there's a fair amount of clearance, it's not a big caliper. What I have tried is the space saver spare that came with the 17" wheels and that goes on.

Thanks Chelspeed, helpful answer which raises the aesthetic dilemma because of a desire to keep a spare set of 17" wheels for track use (ie 330 front kit). Life is never easy.
Cheers, Diccy.

Yep same with me, 18" PFF's from new with pirellis then bought some cheap 17" STI wheels with RE070's.
Wanted to keep both sets, pirellis for the winter, RE070 for the summer.
Finally bit the bullet, fitted the big AP 6 pot fronts and 4 pot rears and sold the 17"s.
Now just need to decide what to put on the 18"s now the pirellis have given up the ghost. Oh and sell the 330mm 6 pot kit to pay for them.

New assymetric Goodyears seem to be getting favourable comments, may try myself when time comes. R888s great for grip but so noisy and expensive, wonder what the new in between Toyos are like, think they're called R1R. You shouldn't have any probs finding a home for the 330 6 pots.
