alloy wheel nuts, a couple of questions
i got some alloy wheel nuts a while back but haven't got round to putting them on, i'm going to put them on my summer wheels but i'm after some advice on a couple of points please
firstly are these done up to the same torque as steel ones?
i'm trying to buy a 6 sided socket but will a deep socket be better or worse to put them on? the normal socket i've got doesn't cover the whole of the stem/shaft, but is a longer one a bit awkward on wheel nuts?
lastly does anyone know if you can get little 'caps' to fill in the hole in the end (see pic) or is the whole idea to have them hollow all through?
any advice much appreciated, ta

Don't know about the torque setting.
Deep socket will be better in that it spreads the load over more of the nut so less chance of damaging the anodising, the black coating. 6 point socket will be better than a 12 point, again less chance of damaging the anodising.
The open end is a requirement in some kinds of motorsport like hillclimbing so the scrutes can check there's enough stud engaged in the nut. But then alloy nuts are banned in this form of motorsport so not a problem.
