Hello Everyone,

I've posted on the tyre section but no one seems to answer !!

I need some new tyres for my 17inch alloys on my 1997 Impreza Catalunya.
At the moment I have P-Zero's on 205/45/R17.
I've been looking for other tyre makes in this size or bigger especially Bridgestone S-03's at 215/40/R17.
Does anyone on here have this tyre size on there 17inch wheels and will it be ok to fit them on without problems ???

Cheers

Gary

Thumbs up

You will be fine on S02s or Toyos, for some reason S03s can rub if the car is heavily loaded & under heavy cornering (ie off a roundabout)

I have 215x40x17 SO2s in place Potenza SO1s 205x50x16. Very happy with them. Was advised SO3s were not as good on mySTi Ver 6 Wagon. May have been sales talk but until I hear good reports on SO3 which Ihave not heard yet I will not be a guinea pig. Hope this helps.

I do have S03s (17") on my car, and don't rate them, the Toyos I had on previously were a lot better, so not just sales talk

my brother is a tyre fitter and says to avoid the SO3's as they are crap and are not made any longer, were not available for long at all.
SO2's are the ones to have but don't really last that long

Hi Gary
Had Eagle F1s fitted to my 17s
no problems with rubbing, cornering hard and fully loaded
good grip in the wet as well.

Cheers for the info guys.

starship impreza, how much did you pay for your F1's ??
I've been quoted £455 for 4 tyres and balancing and stuff.
Is that a good price ???

Cheers

I paid £267 for 4 215/40/17 - - no fitting - Pro tyre Bristol seem to be cheapest with any left - I bought mine at the Enfield Branch but were the last 4 left - Strangly Bristol Protyre want cheques up front - no credit cards - has anyone else been told this - line they give is that if stolen cards are used money gets taken back off them - I checked with my Card company who said that it was a load of bull - any ideas????
