Default Michelins Pilot Sports PS2 Replacing RE070

Hello all.

First post on here so hope it's useful. Just brought a 56 plate STi at 15k miles a week back. Absolutely love the car - been promising myself one for a year or so now.

I knew the front tyres were on the limit when I brought the car, and at 15k miles assume they are the originals (the car seems to have had a fairly easy life). Read quite a few posts on here and decided to go for the Michelin PS2's due to me doing a lot of motorway miles (120 mile round trip per day). Changed all 4 and can say the car is transformed over the standard RE070's. Where I found the original tyres would tram line when under hard acceleration, the Michelins are a lot more controlled. I had another STi for a few days previous to this one (long story, but went back to the dealer as it was a parallel import sold to me as a UK car), and this also had the RE070 tyres with a decent amount of tread all round, so I knew this was a trait of the tyres. I find the Michelins alot quieter, more controlled and nearly as gripy (although must admit in the dry the RE070 had stupendous amounts of grip).

All in all I'm very happy with the Michelins and at £110 a corner fitted also happy with the price (found them cheaper but this place was on my door step at work and normally fits tyres to Ferraris and Lambos). The F1 GSD3's were £90 a corner but plumped for Michelin for hopefully longer life.

Many thanks to all the people who had replied to previous questions about tyres which helped me to make my decision.

Lee

They are an excellent compromise between comfort and grip, I ran these on my previous WRX and enjoyed them very much. I now have Vredestein Sessantas on MY06 STi and they are even better again particulalry in the wet.
