Pagid 4-2-1 Pads
Hi Guys,
Does anyone on here have Pagid 4-2-1 pads all round?
how do you find them? do they squeak under light brakeing at slower speeds once warm?
mine do and its really begining to grate now
I have had them on the car for around 4 or 5 months and although they have got a bit quiter over time there are still annoyingly squeaky.
Is there anything that can be down to stop this?

Surprised you got 4.2-1 on the rears as I didn't think they made them.
HAd them on the fronts and they squeeled like a pig, got Ferodo DS 2500 f+r and they occasionally squeel but it's livable.
Again all from Alyn at ASP.

the rs4.2.1 is normally reasonably quiet (not to be confused with the RS4.2 that D1CCY has)..............
presume you have an STi, how clean are the internals of the caliper, most common thing is old pad debris causing the noise.........

Yes the car is an STi. not sure how clean the caliper internals are. The car is getting an oil change in the next week so i will get the garage to have a look at the pads and calipers for me.
At least its good to know that they are supposed to be quite

I've had RS4-2-1 blacks all round (AP 6 pot front, STi 2 pot brembo rears) in the past, now got RS4-2 blues all round (AP 6 pot front, 4 pot rears) and no long term squeal issues at all. Very occasional squealy noises for a few seconds at certain speeds and brake pressures but soon goes away.
Go out for a good blat on a quiet day, 06:00 sunday morning perhaps, and give them a good hard thrashing. Hard braking on the edge of ABS kick-in a couple of times from high speed (well no more than 70mph obviously).
Sometimes this can clean the surface of the pad and restore as new levels of quietness. But do watch the mirrors as anyone else around won't be expecting it.
