They're tried and tested, I can vouch for them. Think I'm on my fourth set of GSD 3s on various Imprezas. Make sure you go for the XL rated tyre. Some have an issue with tyres made in China...I never had a problem with them. As they have now been superceded they are great value now.

I've just run in some GSD3's in 215/45/17. They are very good IMO, in fact if fitting on the front expect the rear end to break away more often!

2 Issues with the Goodyears:

1. Problems with the inner side walls splitting on Imprezas
2. The supply on non-'e' marked asian spec tyres being sold illegally in UK

Indeed, make sure they're made in EU/China, have the correct E markings, and make sure the load rating is fit for purpose. Mine are 91 XL

Yes, very good tyres and wear very well too. Transformed my car after horrible Bridgestones. As above check for the European E markings and extra load. My current ones are made in China and still very good.

One thing to be said for Bridgestones is that they have stiffer side-walls than GSD3s so you get more feel for what the tyres are doing relative to the road when cornering.

However, GSD3s are a lot more grippy (esp in the wet) and so less prone to understeer.

Had a puncture on my F1's the other day - only way to get home was to drive it (slowly) but it made the trip from St Albans to Dunstable very successfully - very strong sidewalls!!!!!!!!!!!
