Chaps..

This is the situation..
Driving at a quick pace and braking heavily the car stops quickly as normal, I have the SS Brembo 4pot kit, but when it almost comes to a stop the brake pedle goes "boing!!!" and makes a grating/clicking noise which you can also feel thru the pedal.. This is followed by the car squirming a little until standstill..

Now until recently this didn't happen unless you expected it, ie icy/muddy/wet.. Now it does it all the time regrdless of the road conditions..

A couple of more indicators are that the ABS light comes on at start and stays on for 5/10 mins and then goes out.. Also the pads/discs are shot - I have replacements on order...

Anybody had this happen before, is this just a sign of the pads/discs wearing out ? or is it a more serious ABS problem..

I have a similar problem occassionally but the worst thing is the noise of the front brakes, no vibration on steering but very noisy?
Does yours do the same?

After blowing a set of pads in my GSI the ABS light came on after using the brakes a little, also accompanied with a grinding feeling. Probably pad linning rubbing on disk.

GA22AR, isn't the ABS light a clue? It's there to tell you the system isn't happy. Get it checked.
