Default Help required - Goodyear GSD3 out of shape

I have had a GSD3 go out of shape and 'ripple' around the tyre. I have had to replace the tyre at my cost and send it off to goodyear for examination. Theyhave said that 'there is no manufacturing fault so the only conclusion we can come to is that it is a characteristic of the tyre on the car or a mechanical problem'

now my car is serviced regularly, has had the tracking checked BEFORE this set of tyres was put on and I have , in over 5 sets on this car (WRX 2001) and various ones on my old MY98, had a tyre go funny.

I'm asking this on scoobynet to canvas an opinion as to whether my case is a one off or are goodyear pulling the wool over my eyes if it is a common problem. Either of which I need some information to back my claim that this is a problem with their tyre....

I don't have experiance with these, but, it sounds like a load of tosh to me. A characteristic of the car, bo**ocks! Go back and tell them so.

Rippling or bulging of the tyre wall is either a tyre defect or pot hole damage as the steel bracing is designed to hold the tyre in shape.

I assume the other three tyres are the same make and NOT exhibiting this fault? if so how can they say its a characteristic of the car.

It might be worth checking the batch numbers and see if all the tyres are from the same factory run.

I'm on my 4th set of F1's on the scoob and never had any problems what so ever and the car is driven very hard, Living very close to the mountians of the brecon beacons, these get a very good work out (Including over taking some of the sunday bikers)!!!

Had all sizes 16"s, 17"s and 18"s

I'd say it was a tyre defect, clearly there is a fault with it. Unless they have a disclamer advising of non scooby use on either the tyre or website, they haven't a leg to stand on. Unless they are saying that a standard road tyre is not fit for a road car!!!

Contact trading standards if you have no luck,
