Question A question for brake experts.

My '98 UK car has Brembo 2 pots on the rear, with the Godspeed brakeSHOE conversion for handbrake.

If I apply the handbrake, with my foot on the brakes, it comes up tight, but as soon as I release the footbrake, it's not tight enough and the car will roll back, unless I pull it up another couple of notches.

Since the footbrake and handbrake systems are entirely separate, how can this be?

I've always found that my car will rock slightly with the handbrake on anyway, as the shoes move slightly in their mountings.... which is partly why i'm not keen on using the handbrake when in motion..... stress's n all that....

other than that like you say, seperate mechanisms..??!!

Thats a strange one as they are totally separate ?? is there any play in the wheel bearings , if so , when applying the footbrake , it might be holding the discs and hub tight , but letting go of the footbrake then allows the disc and hub to move slightly

I'm not sure, but will look tomorrow.

I'd have thought that TWO CLICKS extra on my handbrake would equate to enough play in the wheel bearings for me to have felt, or heard it before now, though?
