Default Rear Brake Setup - any recommendations?

Hi,

As per the title, I am trying to get some information on what would be a good setup on a budget to improve the rear brakes and also to balance the braking as I will be getting a pair of gold Brembo 4 Pot Calipers and Performance Friction Disc's installed up front.

I want to replace the stock items but want something that is not too costly however would like to retain a good brake balance between front and rear. I had a look at the Brembo conversion and this doesn't seem to difficult, I believe Ian of Godspeed is doing the kits now but they are £195 a pop which does push my budget over if I go for gold 2 pot Brembo's on the rear (they are not cheap even second hand, probably because they are rare beasts).

What other options are there apart from Brembo's? I want something like 2-Pot or 4-Pot that will give a good balance and take some track abuse when I hit Bedford Autodrome next year.

Cheers,

Fz

I've got the Godspeed conversion with 316mm discs and gold, (but refinished in red ) Brembos on the rear of my classic.

My Brembos and discs came from GradeA, delivered next day, £200 all in.

I've posted quite a detailed thread on the conversion about two months ago in this forum.

Agreed, they are OK standard, but mine wanted new discs and pads, and I was fed up of the view of the tiny old discs and single pot calipers under my 17's
