any tips on removing these as they are in tight & don't want to break the heads off!

been spraying with wd40 & brake cleaner to try & help but it looks like its only the heads that want to move.

Impact drivers are fairly good for these.

An impact driver is an animal bit of kit that most people don't seem to have heard of. A big lump of metal that takes a range of screwdriver bits and you clout the other end with a big hammer. Some kind of internal mechansim converts the impact into rotary movement. They only cost about a tenner too.

If that doesn't work then drill the head off, pop the disc and then you can often remove the threaded bit still protruding with mole grips. If not grind that off flat and don't bother. The screw does nothing once the wheel nuts are on, it's only there to locate the disc until the wheel holds it in place.

If its the 2 pins that hold the pads in place , they should have a pozidrive x in the end of them , you will have to try and turn them side to side to free them off , other wise use a punch or similar from the outside to tap them out , be gentle though as the rear 2 pots are alluminium and will damage easily

 

Whoops yes, I was talking about the screw that holds the disc onto the hub. Please ignore my comments.

 

I had a go at removing the screws and they have chewed slighlty! but they move side to side, should I keep doing this until they free off more?

try tappinig them out with a thin punch , or bolt , just take your time so you dont damage them

Anyone got some pics of the rear 2 pots off the bugeye WRX, showing them how to come off or know a good link to it, never done these before.
