Default Binding?

Afternoon....

Just been into town for a few bits and noticed what i can only describe as binding coming from the front brakes (noticed at low "crawling speed") seems to squeek on ond off, also when reversing i hit the brake and there is a "clunk" sound when you apply the peddle.

Any advice on how to solve the above?
MY93 Wrx
Thanks....

Are your pads, new / old...oem/ uprated?

Binding tends to happen when the pads have not released from the disc properly (could be a couple of reasons), but one thing you would notice is a significant amount of dusting, and a drop off in performance.

The clunking is normal when reversing, do not worry!

might be sticky pistons in the caliper - give them a rub down with wet/dry and healthy does of WD40 to let them move a bit more freely - got a mechanic mate to do mine recently and it was well worth it.

sounds like your going thro what i have did

binding from n/s front

took wheels off and dust everywhere ,, have since got two new calipers
as old ones the sliders and pistons were gone

easy way to tell :-

take off offending wheel and undo the bottom bolt which holds caliper to caliper mount 14mm and swing up caliper and see if it moves on top slider from left to right whatch it you dont pull it right off tho , if it does not move then i would get calipers refurbed or new

mine didnt and could not be bothered with repair kit so replaced them both for 20 pounds good ol ebay eh

this of course does not relate to four pot calipers tho

hope it helps
