I had a slight off in the country a few weeks ago,and now i have noticed the near side tyre is wearing on the outside edge, do i need to just have the tracking checked or is there something else to be checked,ie 4 wheel alinement maybe. cheers Andy.

 

I'd be surprised if you noticed the tyre wear in a few weeks, unless your doing mega-mileage.

From what I've read on here, it's definitely worth getting 4 wheel alignment done - I'll be getting this done soon.

TSL in Nottingham are pretty close to you and have a good reputation (no connection).

Impreza suspension bends surprisingly easily in a lateral swipe - 1300 or so kg in a sideways impact is a LOT of kinetic energy to dissipate. The common thing is for a damper rod to bend if the wheel is clouted sideways.

If you have Leda suspension, it can be rebuilt, if it is standard the strut is scrap.

If it was a fair sized hit the suspension is almost certainly out of alignment in one way or another.
