Default brake options on type R v5 ?

hello,

I have an impreza STI type R v5
Front discs are wrapped and about to die.
what would be my options as upgrade? better discs ? wider discs with relocated calippers ? other? brands? price...
which pads are available on market? which one are popular for fast road use ?

thanks

You could always go for a Godspeed 335mm conversion which retains the 4 pots calipers but uses spacers to widen them to accommodate a bigger and wider 2 piece disc.

If sticking with 294mm discs then I would go for a set of grooved only discs.
Something like a PAgid 8 groove, DBA's etc.

Pad wise the worlds your oyster, Pagid RS42-1 black and RS42 blue are highly rated as are Ferodo DS2500's and Mintex 1144/1155.

Also consider stainless brakelines, brake cylinder support bracket and good fluid.

Ultimate brake upgrade is to replace the entire set up with AP's, Alcons etc.

Speak to Alyn at ASP for best advice.

And Chris at CDF Racing is having a GB on brackets:
