Default Wheel Offset

I have just bought a classic wrx with 17" x 7.5" wheels with et48 and 215 x 45 profile tyres the wheels. Is this wheel and tyre combo alright as i have found them to catch now and again. The found them to catch now and again. Also the car has about a 40mm drop on the springs which i know wont be helping. Any advise would be apprechiated. Thanks.

Usual tyres for classics are 205/45/17 or 215/40/17.

most 17's will be 7x17 to accommodate them sizes with an offset of anything between ET45-55 depending on make.

215/45/17 is a bug/blobeye WRX fitment. This will likely catch on wheelarches of a classic, especially as the car is lowered. Sorry, cure would be to fit 205 tyres.

Depends if the spokes will clear 4 pots, tyre wise on classics its usually215/35/18 or 225/35/18 although these may catch on some cars.

If it's just the rear that's catching, you could have the arches rolled. Or pick up some 215/40's on 17" wheels then sell the existing ones to a newage owner.

Your wheels are too wide and tyres too tall. Space is very tight at the rear of a Classic.

You need 17x7in wheels with 215/40x17 tyres.
