Default Warming up Brakes?

I have just fitted some new discs and pads. i decided to go for Black Diamond 12 groove discs and Red Stuff pads. I am told that to get them working properly i need to warm em up each time i'm gonna give em a blast. is this true.

I have no idea about your specific brakes, but if they only work properly when up to temperature then they're not really suitable for road use. Track yes, but not road.

I used to have green stuff pads which were awful when cold but soon warmed up and weren't all that bad when warm. I now have Predator pads (and discs for that matter) and cold performance is like 'standard' pads and they were very good on the track too. My brake fluid let me down before the pads did.

yes i have already had brake fade after a few laps on our local island to island race track. is this due to fluid. these discs and pads are known as fast road not racing.

I think brake fade is more to do with the temperatures between your pads and discs being so high that the pads can't cope. When the fluid overheats it is responsible for increased pedal travel. Don't forget that having smaller brakes generally (as opposed to a 343mm 6 pot Alcon setup!) makes it harder to dissipate heat so all the heat related problems are going to occur earlier than if you had a bigger brake system.

You shouldnt need to warm up any road going pads, this is what they are designed for, just go out and run em
If your running the pads and discs in on the other hand, then take it gently for the first 100 or so miles (no extremely heavy braking for instance) until they pads bed into the discs

island to island is just under 1/4 mile and you hit 90+ you are askin a lot when you do 6+ stops playing
get some ap 5.1 in to help fluid overheating for a start
