Exclamation Disc diagnosis..?

Your opinions on these markings on my discs (@27k miles) would be welcome.

I've had for as long as I've had the car (05 WRX from new) a vibration (sound only) when moderate braking from high speed, which I've asked about before and was there with OEM setup and also after changing to Padgid 421's, hoses and Motul 5.1 fluid around 12k ago. This is the first time however that I've seen anything on the disc surface (which appeared after a 'spirited' drive at the weekend, even though the brakes were used hard a couple of times, the final time they did seem to be fading ).

I suspect the discs are coming to the end of there service (are close to min thickness), but as I've had this other problem for so long I wondered if they may be linked..?

I know I definitely need to upgrade (poss 4pot 330mm AP's) as I'm running ~340bhp, but a diagnosis of this would be appreciated..

J

PS they appear to be uniform all around the discs...!

Hi Alyn,

As I've said I've had the noise virtually from day one, but braking has always been OK. However the weekend I had a couple of heavy brakes (from 100+ to ~30mph @ around 30 seconds apart) which apart from the noise slowed the car well, then the third time I felt I really had to press harder on the pedal and felt very reduced retardation..! (one of those brown pant moments..)

Appreciate your input..
