Default Which pads for a 53reg STI?

Hi guys

I have a 53 reg STI and the rear pads need changing - the ones on her at the moment are the original Brembo pads, but I just think to replace with Brembo is too expensive. Can anyone suggest a good alternative and a supplier? Likely cost would help too!!

Cheers

Hi Ronan

Contact Alyn @ AS Performance (User stockcar on Scoobynet)

He can offer the uprated pads but I decided to go with the Brembo equivalent and the full set cost me about £150.00 delivered (fronts and backs) Look exactly the same as the oem ones.............in fact I'm sure they are the same just in a different box

Good man - I know Alyn - get Octane booster from him on a regular basis!

Get DS2500s Ferodo pt no FCP1562H or FRP3068H (same pad) from Alyn. Rears are about £70 inc VAT & P&P.

They were the ones I was going for originally.......cost for the fronts were quite expensive and was told they can screech a lot at low speeds. Alyn certainly gives sound advice rather than pointing you to the more expensive option.

DS2500's are certainly a better choice if you want better performance.

I've had no screeching probs with DS2500 on the front (both Brembos and AP 6 pots). Only time I got any noise was when I forgot to copper grease the backs of the pads, but that would happen with any pad. Splash out on the fronts as well, you won't regret it.
