I cant answer you specific question, but my investigations showed that the P1 came with a larger space saver than the one from my MY98 (from what I can recall). This might be another option if your standard one fails the criteria or maybe the later models have even bigger clearance space savers?

Just some suggestions that might or might not help.

you normally have to fit the space saver to the rear of the car, regardless of where the original problme lies.....................

Space saver will fit over 5570/330mm 6 pots but not the 355mm set up. As Alyn says it would be wise to fit to rear and swap full size wheel to front in the event of a front puncture.
