Default RE011

I have a 01 WRX with RE011 tyres fitted, i've always had these tyres.

On the current set I got 13,000 miles approx on the fronts, these have now been rotated to the back, hence getting around 26,000 per set. I've noticed that these tyes seem to wear on the inside while the rest of the tyre is ok. I don't believe it's an allignment issue as I've had the 4 wheel done.

Anyone else have issues with these?

I'm thinking of going for the RE040 tyres next or can anyone recommened a better tyre to get more mileage. I don't boot the car anymore, just do a lot of motorway and A road driving.

Thanks,

26k is a decent mileage, negative camber will tend to wear inside edges if you spend a lot of time going straight (eg motorway) but I find evens out nicely with some twisties thrown in. Michelin PS2 are well rated and give good mileage but are expensive. I use Goodyear F1 GSD3 and I suspect will give similar mileage to RE011/040s.

Thanks for that. I was also looking at Bridgestone RE050 EZ 87 quid on blackcircles - any experience?

Thanks

Never used 050s. Looking at the treads I can't imagine there's much difference between 011/040/050 and I wonder why they make different tyres for the same market slot (not clear in their blurb).
