Default Brake Fluid ASAP!

Hi

I would welcome any ideas.....

I need some brake fluid tomorrow, and not sure what to get/where!

I replaced the hoses last year, and decided to stick with DOT 4. I used Castrol Response synthetic, bought from Halfords.

I about to chage the callipers, so thought no probs, just need to pop to halfords as it would be nice to keep to the same fluid. One prob - Halfords only sell their own now. Tried a few small motor factors - no joy!

I am in the Bromley/Croydon area on the off chance that someone knows somewhere!

Thanks

Hi mate,
It depends how hard you are on the brakes, I have the AP 4 Pot's and use this fluid, to be hones I can get it to boil quite easily, any dot 5.1 will be a lot better, dont use dot 5 it must be dot 5.1 !

I guess Subaru recommend DOT 4?

I am not particularly hard on the brakes, so might stick to the DOT 4 I have.....?

Thanks

I'd recommend ATE racing blue

These guys in Dartford do it
Brake Fluid

But if there is a branch near you try eurocarparts who do it for about £12
Part No Description
130339010 ATE RACING BLUE B/FLUID 1LTR

Euro Car Parts UK - Branch Locations

The fluid is actually blue, and if you are changing fluid from a different colour it makes it really easy to see when the old stuff has gone through the system

If you can try and get the ATE TYPE 200 Brake Fluid it has a higher boiling point than DOT5.1, which is great considering it is a DOT4 fluid
