Can 235 wide tyres fit on 18 x 7.5" rim?

Can 235 wide tyres fit on 18 x 7.5" rim?

Looking at some alloys for my car but they are only available in 7.5" width, I know you can fit 225 but I would rather the wider 235 tyres for better grip.

Anyone know if this is possible or will there be ballooning issues?

wots that more grip in the dry ,no grip in the wet

Really only interested in dry performance as I'll be running winter tyres in the cold months.

think you would be better with 225 , rims just not wide enough for tyre to fit correctly, also may have some rubbing body issues with 235's

Cheers for that, no issues with 235's though as it's a MY07 STi

I guess the best option would be to either get a 8 x 18 or stick with 225's on the 7.5 x 18
