Can I fit 225/45/17 tyres as a replacement for 215/45/17 (05 WRX) or is it ? I ask because costso will fit four Michelin PS tyres for £352.

i think fitting them tyres will make it look like you have got too much rubber mate they will look like got bigger profile as the rim is not as wide,
it would probably have an adverse affect on the handling aswell

I think Subaru recommend replacing the 215's with 225's when having the ppp fitted.

its just my mate once put wider tyres on his nova and it ended up looking like a moon buggy and riding like a cross channel ferry

NulaT just fitted ps2 from Costco, wow what a great tyre have tried almost all the rest but these are without doubt the best tyre I have used in the wet,
not yet had a good dry day to test them in yet but if the wet result are anything to go by I am sure I wont be disappointed.......

They'll fit no problems.

Witha PPP they actually recommend you upgrade to 18" wheels with 225/40/18.

on my 06 wrx i had 235's on my 17x8in wheels


now i have 245's with rolled fenders ...... beat that !

they will fit.

Thanks guys. I got four fitted yesterday. A couple of comments: the Costco book said that the standard size for my WRX was 225, so no problem with fitting; the road noise seems higher (but elsewhere on this forum it's reported that PS2's are quieter, so what do I know); the bigger size makes my speedo more accurate (the old 215 tyres gave a gps speed of 75 against the speedo of 80 - new tyres give gps of 77 against the same speedo speed); the grip against the previous Bridgestone Potenzas seems better (but I'm not a hooligan driver).
