Default 4 pots

hi there,

i have got a my98 wrx currently has 2 pots on it with standard discs and green stuff pads(got some bad advice when i first got the car).
the brakes are currently shocking to say the least.

a friend bought some 4 pots for his wrx (off ebay) about a year ago but never fitted them, he has just offered them to me with standard discs and pads.

my question is, when upgrading to 4 pots should i stick with the standard discs and pads or by upgrading them will i notice a massive difference, another thing is i want it done cheap as chips(like usual).

and does braided hoses make a big difference to the standard hoses?

thanks for any advice

Wink

You'd notice a difference in braking performance using four pots over the OE two pot setup. I assume we are talking about the later, MY 99 onwards, Subaru calipers?

An even bigger difference can be had, at a later date if you want, by fitting the Godspeed kit which modifies the Subaru calipers, and fits discs up to 335mm.

Braided hoses give a better pedal feel, some people say it helps braking, but if you don't use the car on track, you'd not notice it that much. I like the better, stiffer feel, though

nice one

so if the 4 pots are not 99 onwards are these brakes not as good?
but better than 2 pots.

im unsure what to do, but fitting the 4 pots with oe pads and discs, then upgrading on a later date seems favourite

cheers
