Default AP 6 Pot Brakes 330mm kit

Hi

Need a bit of help with wheel choice for my 99 type R, currently have 19" wheels on that are buckled , want to go back down to 17" but not sure if they will fit with the AP 6 pot brakes on.

Anyone know if they will fit ?

What are good strong wheels to stop them getting buckled in the future.

Thanks

I have the 330mm AP 6 pots on my 2002 STI running 17" Prodrive alloys, so yes will fit.

The disks are not the problem, it's the calliper V's wheel spoke design that can cause issues. This will help you determine which 17's will fit.

Went through this issue myself. The Rota SDR rims (see rarerims.co.uk) apparently also fit over the 330mm 6-pot kit (I say apparently as my kit has yet to arrive). So thats one extra option...

The 6 pot 5570 caliper is designed to fit under standard 17" WRX wheel. So should be pretty well OK with any 17" Subaru specfic replacement rim. AP do templates on their website for checking.

FWIW the 5570 caliper has around 15mm clearance to the back of the spokes on the stock 17" WRX wheel.

Has your kit arived yet ? spoke to a few suppliers and they seemed surprised that it would fit. Nice wheels, let me know once you have them on.

Thanks
