Pedal feel? MY98 WRX with uprated brakes
Hello all.
My WRX has the following fitted.
Front = Godspeed grooved 335mm with the Subaru 4 pots and 1144 pads.
Read = New age grooved discs with 2 pots and 1144 pads
Endless braided hoses and 5.1 fluid.
I feel that the pedal needs alot or pressure before I get decent braking. I'm comparing this to the GF's BMW 318 00 and my SRI Vectra 98.
My Vectra feels like I'm left foot braking for the first time after driving the scoob. Its as if the servo on the scoob isnt poweful enough.
The pads are ok, no leaking fluid and the fluid was changed a month back. The main problem is that it has always been like this so I' thinking I would like to improve this.
Is it a classic problem or is there something a miss?

Hi,
Did it have 2-pots on before hand? Mine did before i fitted brembos and its the same thing, feels like you have to push harder to get anything. If so its because you need a master cylinder and or servo from a 4 potted car...
so im told anyway, i can live with mine as they stop like big anchors when you need them to

This is not a bug, it is a feature.
The brake pedal feel of the Impreza is disappointing, whether it's a 1994 wagon or a 2005 STI. This is due to a two stage brake booster, it can be solved by replacing the brake booster:

It had 2 pot fronts and single rears before I converted it to what is has now.
The site you mention (the old Ravensblade site) seemd to suggest that the single stage gives a firmer feel? I'm wanting a frim feel but with less effort, if this makes sense.
Do the servos differ from 2 pot to 4 pot cars?
