Default front brakes missing parts ??

hi

ive had my o2 sti for 2 years now and ive just come to replace the front brake pads.i took the pads out and noticed the whole disc was loose inside the caliper ?? if it wasnt for the caliper i could take the whole disc off.

of course what im wondering is, is there 2 retaining screws supposed to fix the disc to the hub ? ive never had a problem before like this, if they are missing screws i m lost as to how they have not been put back

any advice would be appreciated

to be honest mate i can understand your concern but the disc is held on by the wheel as it is sandwiched in between the wheel and the hub

Thankfully, Subaru dont make things too complicated, why have screws when they're not needed...!!

The two threaded holes in the disc are used to push the disc off when you want to replace them, as sometimes they get stuck really badly to the hub.

When I changed the discs on my WRX one disc was just flapping about but the other one wouldn't budge until I put a bolt through the threaded hole.

If you can't get the pads in because the disc is wobbling in the way, fix it against the hub by screwing one or two wheel nuts onto the studs.

So in essence, the threaded holes shouldn't have anything in them normally
