Hi, posted this on IWOC, but got no response, can anyone help?
Rear brakes on my MY98 are due for replacing (discs and pads).
I have seen some Jap models with vented discs (as opposed to solid) c/w what looks like the sliding caliper as fitted previous to the 00 model (vented discs with 2 pot 'Subaru' caliper?).
Does anyone know if the vented disc is a straight replacement or is there mods required, or would you advise trying to get hold of some late model 2 pot calipers and discs.
I think I heard that the caliper will take a wider disc, or is that only the fronts ?? (already gone to 4 pots on the front).
Do somebody like Hi-Spec or Godspeed do something that might fit the bill?

Ta,
Neil

I cannot tell from experience. But comparing the 2 side by side I dont think the vented disc will replace the solid one. You will probably need calipers too. Speak to one of the brake places, they should help you out.

The two pot calipers and discs will not fit your car , the axle's are different , If you want to change from the solid discs to vented disc they will fit , but you need the wider single piston calipers to go with them , the calipers are identical in size and pad size but they are wider to take the wider vented disc , Hope this helps , Ian

Thanks, Ian , do you do a drilled/grooved replacement solid disc or a big disc kit for the rear. Might even fit some drilled/grooved discs to the front. Do your replacement front discs (296mm) come with alloy bells? Maybe you could email some prices at - robbo64@orange.net
Thanks,
Neil.
ps, one more thing, can you get DS2500 for my type of rear calipers now (and 4-pots), could only get EBC 'standard' stuff last time.
