Default Which way round for discs??????

Right then!!!

Got uprated discs and pads on my newage

Which way should the grooves be running in too the front brake caliper

What i mean is that on mine the outer edge of the groove on the disc is running in to the disc first

I will try and get some pics on for tomorrow to show you guys.

Cheers
Mike

depends on the manufacturer of the discs and how they machined them to be?

inside should enter the caliper first when moving forwards.

I thought that until I realised that every manufacturer is different. Some have the grooves running outside in, some have it inside to out, some it doesn't matter. The bit that matters is the venting channels. IIRC most discs have channels that go straight out from the centre of the disc radially. With those it doesn't matter which way the outer grooves turn. More expensive discs have venting channels that don't go straight out from the centre, therefore as they go round they must be fitted so the channels are leaning backwards.

Like this. As previously said forget the grooves (even on the above web page) and get the curved vents the right way round. If you don't the cooling air cannot flow through the discs properly, they wil overheat and the first time you need them you will have no brakes. Not big or clever.

AP, EBC, Black Diamond, tarox all the same mate as the diagram Chelspeed posted, never know a manufacturer to recomend them in reverse to that

As said previously vent direction is important, groove direction is not. Here's one example from AP Racing who do both straight forward facing (2nd pickie) and curved backward facing (3rd pickie) grooves.

Listen to Chelspeed Kitch.

The discs act like a centrifuge when in forward motion. pulling air in from the centre of the disc.
Vane direction is important!
Groove direction is NOT!
