Default EBC Red Pads

I've got a MY00 T2000 and was wondering what people think to the EBD red brake pads. Am using the standard discs so was wondering if anyone has used these pads before with the standard discs and calipers. If so whats the performance like as I'll be doing a track day at Donington in a few months time.

Used them on my MY00 UK Turbo. They don't last as long as OE pads and wore the standard discs quickly. Worked OK from cold and didn't fade under fast road use. Make sure you get the later ceramic compund as the earlier ones had a reputation for crumbling. Use the searchfacility above, but I think the general consensus was that the slightly more expensive D2500 Ferodos were far better. Cheers Bob

Echo what Bob says above. Perform reasonably well but wear extremely quickly. I got almost triple the mileage from Ferodo DS2000's. Currently using Mintex 1155's but they're very dusty so will be either returning to Ferodo or trying Pagid RS4.2.1 Black next time.

Yep i've got the Redstuffs at the mo on the front. They wear extremely quickly and cause a lot of dust on the wheels but they are excellent from cold and don't fade under heavy road use.

I'd recommend them

DS2000 I believe have been rebranded DSPF and IIRC are about £90+vat fitted from Scoobyclinic. Usually good deals to be had on brake products from www.asperformance.com too. The DS2000 work better from cold than the DS2500, but the 2500 would be better if you regularly track or are a particularly hard driver.

I just put DS2500 in all round on my 05 STi and was quite surprised to find they are better than the standard Brembo pads from cold. As for hot, well I now assume the Brembo pads are made from recycled corn flake packets

Lot of people are happy with redstuff ceramic pads but personally I won't touch them on past reputation

Stick with decent fast road pads such as Ferodo DS2500 or Pagid RS4.2-1's

I'm currently using red stuff ceramic pads on tarox g88 discs. I'm not that impressed really i'll be either going for black diamond pads or ferodo ones next time!

EBC Technical do not recommend using them for track days.

I have Yellowstuff front and rear in my Impreza and would recommend them to anyone.

What are they Yellowstuff pads like for road use? What I'm looking for is a pad thats better than the standard pad for road and track use but doesn't need to be hot for best braking performance.

On the road, initial cold bite is good. After a couple of applications of the brake pedal the pads are getting to their normal operating temperature and are excellent there after.

YellowStuff'R' pads are long lasting, low dusting and a good consistent fast road pad.

Recommended.

What are the red pads like for road use, do they need to be warm for best performance and how will they perform for track use. I'm hoping to do an open pitlane day at Anglesey. Also doing a Donington track day but thats behind a safety car to limit speeds a bit as it's not an open day but a free day only for members of the Donington Park Racing Association Club.

Reds are NOT recommended for track days.

Yellows for any track work or road use.
