Tyres screaming!!
I bought some STI alloys with falken (fr) and RE040 (r) on them nearly tyres
I had re050 before on wrx wheels
Now on corners im familiar with the new wheels are screaming in pain when driven hard through them!
Whats the usual reason for this ? The cheap front tyres- the cheapish rears? The wider wheels? hmmm

sounds like tyres struggleing for grip. might be worth changing them for something else.
personally use toy t1-s's but everyone seems to have there own theorys on tyres lol

This is on a Scoob I assume - IMHO never a good idea to have different makes on the two ends. The tyres may have different effective sizes (even though marked as the same size) and that will cause them to be rotating at different speeds. As soon as there is some extra load it pushes them to protest more.
The RE040 has stiff sidewalls. You didn't say which Falken it is, but the characteristics of the tyres (grip, compliance, effect of temperature, ride) are unlikely to be the same.
Many on here aren't keen on the RE040 anyway, so you might be best off getting two more Falkens to match.

Totally agree with Ricardo.
Same tyre, same size and Toyo's are a great tyre for the Impreza (air-raid hat on firmly now).
Tyre squeel is a combination of the tyre blocks shuffling on the road while the tyre rotates and is under stress and to some degree to tyre pressures/geometry not getting the full contact area evenly on the road.
Some tyres are very prone to annoying 'boy-racer' squeel which makes you look a pratt.
You need to work a Toyo/Kumho hard to get silly squeels, but all will eventually squeel at the limit.

In the second video clip by my Impreza and the EVO are on semi slick Kumho's.

Thanks for that guys.
I cant afford 4 new tyres at the mo' once I sell my old wheels/tyres i'll get a set of 4 new all round i think!
Shame because i waited ages to find a good set and as stated above the squeel sounds 'boy-racer'- plus the corners i'm talking about i dont think a subaru is anywhere near it's limits!!
And my re050s i only sqeeled once and i took a corner too hard then!

Although its lowered with prodrive springs.
So i dont think its rubbing??
