Default Cheap Brake Upgrade?

I am looking at a cheap way of stopping my brakes fading so much. I have a 97 wagon with 2 pot brakes. I have removed the heatshields and intend to buy redstuff pads and new fluid. That should make a reasonable difference? The discs are in good condition. Are upgraded rear pads worth the money?

The best option would be to source some 4 pots from a 98> car, but if that's not do-able then I'd add some Goodridge braided lines to your shopping list. My experience of EBC Reds wasn't good as I wore them out in 6k. To put that into perspective, the OE pads prior did 9k from half worn and a trackday, and the Ferodo's which followed them did 14k and 2 trackdays. I'm currently on Mintex 1155's but will be either going back to Ferodo DS2000 (DSPF ?) or Pagid RS4.2.1 Black next time. The rears don't contribute much so I'd do them as/when they need pads anyway.

For pads, lines and fluid, speak to Alyn at www.asperformance.com and for new discs try www.sapmotorparts.com
