Sti 8 brembos under a prodrive P7 wheel?
hi, i have just bought some prodrive P7 anthracite wheels and they are great, i now want to put some of the gold caliper brembos of an sti8 on for some proper stopping power. Does anyone know if they will fit and if not is there anyway to work it out before i shell out for the brakes. any help is much appreciated.
Rob.
oh these are the wheels by the way.

The Prodrive 7 won't fit over the STi brakes, but then the STi brakes aren't suitable for anything other than an STi as they aren't matched properly to the rest of the brake system on any other Impreza.
They will fit over most other 4pots though, including our's and the std ones.

Hi mike, it seems you know what you are talking about. I have an my97 typeRA obvioulsy with the p7's on. My car has 2 pot brakes which are just awful and as i intend to sprint and hillclimb my car brakes are obvioulsy very important. If the sti8 brembo's won't fit what are my other options for some proper stopping power that will fit on my set up. Any help you can give me is much appreciated.

For sprints and hillclimbs having huge brakes isn't always necessary as they never really get that hot and you don't generally get a chance to warm them up either. you need somthing that's got a good balance, that is consistant from cold to warm and has good pedal feel. Subaru 4 pots would probably be enough in most circumstances with pads that aren't too aggressive. they should be matched by the same pads in the rear so they warm up together. No good the fronts taking 3 corners to get working if there's only 5 on the whole course!!
